Visiting from Ottawa, and this little spot was truly a gem! Had the fish and chips and the brisket sandwich. Both were excellent bursts of flavour! The fish was fresh and they smoke their own brisket. If you sit looking out at the bay you get a million dollar view for a 20/person meal. I’m kinda bummed that we were only there for lunch because there was so much more we wanted to try. (We also had some crows join us for lunch and they were very entertaining).
Lata's Kitchen was a wonderful experience. Delicious food at fair prices. Staff were extremely kind and provided excellent service. Large menu with something for everyone. Beautiful location that overlooks the harbor, with three large picnic tables to sit and eat at. Their fries are also some of the best I've ever had.
Lovely little food trailer with all the good stuff! I’ve tried the deluxe burger and had the fish and chips - both were very generous portions and cooked just right. A jewel for yummy comfort foods in Port McNeill!
Absolutely delicious. The entire family had different things, and all of them were good from the ham grilled cheese to my beef dip. The salads were fresh and the fries crispy. My youngest referred to the burger as the best he's had on the island. And living in Victoria, he knows a thing or two on the matter.
Stopped in after hearing good things about Lata’s and ordered a cod fish burger.Their menu offers a large variety of yummy sounded dishes. Service was quick and friendly. The burger was huge and very tasty. The atmosphere was upbeat. It felt like I was transported out of McNeill and to a food truck park in the Caribbean. With an ice cream was stand beside to boot.
I was looking for a quick place to eat before hitting the road... and oh my, the burger I got here was supreme! We ordered the McNeil Landing Burger with a side of spring salad, the Bacon Cheeseburger, and the Broughton and Brie—both of the latter with fries. The burgers were especially juicy and flavorful! The staff were great too. :)
This little gem is a must stop! The food was amazing! We tried the quesadilla and the fig/apple sandwich! It was more food than we could eat in one sitting, so sharing will be an option next visit. We loved the view and sat overlooking the harbour.
Very good spot for food and view over the harbor. It is not a restaurant but more of a stationary food truck for either take away or sitting outside. No inside seats. Food: Very good homemade food. We loved the fish and chips and the Burger are very good, too. Service: Friendly but basic self-service. The food takes a bit to be ready, as it is freshly prepared. Ambiance: Take away and outside seating. Beautiful view over the harbor - depending on weather. Price: Fair prices at around 20 per person including drink. Dish recommendation: Fish and Chips - They are very good and on par with the good Bristish pendants. Conclusion: Check it out, it's worth it.
